A Family Adventure at Legoland Atlanta Discovery Center

Legoland Atlanta Discovery Center was a trip like none other. It was the first time I had taken my five year old daughter, Delaney on a Georgia Traveler shoot with me and it was AMAZING! From the time Delaney and I arrived it was like we had jumped into the biggest box of Legos ever. We built skyscrapers, went on rides, made racecars, and played with more legos than you can imagine.

Take a Stroll through Haunted History – The Roswell Ghost Tour

Hey Georgia Travelers – This week I take a stroll through haunted history in Roswell, Georgia with paranormal investigator, Dianna Avena. The Roswell Ghost Tour begins in Roswell Square goes past several historical homes, through the Old Mills Village, and finally to Founder’s Cemetery. The tour is filled with true stories of Roswell’s rich history with unexplainable stories that people have experienced in the area.

A Pirate Invasion on Georgia Traveler!

If you’ve ever been to Savannah and walked the historic streets, you’ve no doubt sensed a strong pirate presence. Maybe it’s the fact that there are abandoned tunnels running beneath these city streets that pirates used to use to shanghai unsuspecting sailors, taking them out to sea to join the crew…Maybe it’s the ghostly presence of the Pirate’s House restaurant, Savannah’s oldest standing building and questionable most haunted, dating back to the early 1700’s, it was a pirate hot spot…Or maybe, just maybe it’s because the pirates are still there.

Just Another Day at the Greyfield Inn

The only barrier standing between you and tranquility at Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island is a short, 40-minute ferry ride from Fernandina Beach, Florida up the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Landlubbers fear not…Greyfield’s ferry the “Lucy R. Ferguson” is a robust yet speedy vessel operated by Captain Mitty Ferguson, a fifth-generation descendant of the storied Carnegie family.

Old Car City

If your average ‘old car junkyard’ is where hunks of junk go to die, then Old Car City in White, Georgia is where aging beauties go to be re-born.

Let's Go Fishing! - At Go Fish Education Center

I headed out to Perry, Georgia this week to learn all about fishing! The Go Fish Education Center is open to all. You can take an educational journey through Georgia's watersheds to learn about aquatic wildlife and habitats which also includes live alligators and turtles.

After the tour, it was time to try my hand at fishing. Go Fish is equipped with a stocked pond where people of all ages can 'catch and release' fish. Although, the kids all around me were catching fish it just wasn't my lucky day.

Antico Pizza

Mi Amore Antico Pizza! Love comes in all shapes and sizes and I happen to have found it in a Pizza Pie. Chef Marvin takes us behind the scenes with the pizzaiolo Giovanni to learn how true authentic Italy pizza is made. Antico Pizza was inspired by maestro pizzaiolo Giovanni Di Palma, who learned from his grandparents in Naples, Italy. Giovanni’s passion for pizza oozes just like the hot yummy cheese on the pizza. He uses only the freshest ingredients, from the tomatoes on top to the dough, to craft his pizzas .

Georgia Traveler inspires a tasty new product for Georgians to enjoy!

My adventures around Georgia are all about having a good time, discovering new places and making new friends…I guess now we can add “inspiring new businesses” to that list!

My friend Abby Jackson from Blackhawk Fly-fishing in the little town of Batesville, GA has begun a new adventure…making salsa!

Lucille's Mountain Top Inn

Georgia Travelers! I just spent the most fabulous time filming a segment for our upcoming Season 6, at Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn and Spa! This luxury Bed & Breakfast is located in the North Georgia Mountains in the charming town of Sautee. Upon arrival, I felt like I was in heaven as I was greeted by the most amazing view of mountains. The glorious mountaintops can be viewed from almost anywhere in the B&B. They are your morning backdrops as you have coffee and a scrumptious breakfast on the deck, and they become your evening landscape while sipping wine by the fireplace.

BBQ Joints

Barbecue, baby. It’s what’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Atleast it was for me this past Saturday when I had the honor of visiting 3 of Georgia’s most famous BBQ joints: Fresh Air BBQ in Jackson, GA, The Whistling Pig in Pine Mountain, GA and Daddy D’z in Atlanta.

We started our morning at Fresh Air BBQ which has been a Jackson favorite since 1929. Brothers George and David Barber have been honoring the family biz with the same recipes their Granddad used back when the restaurant was almost entirely outdoors! (Which is how the Fresh Air BBQ name came to be).
