The Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace website, (www.HealthCare.gov) is where individuals, families, and small businesses can sign up for insurance coverage. To qualify for ACA marketplace coverage, you must live in the U.S., and be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident. You can’t get coverage if you're in jail.

ACA was signed into law in 2010. The Supreme Court confirmed it. (The Supreme Court did deem the state Medicaid expansion provision requirement optional. Georgia is currently one of the states to opt out. This leaves some low income uninsured Americans without the opportunity to get coverage. We’ll discuss this later.

Flu Vaccine May Prevent Heart Attack

Flu season is here. I hope you’ve been vaccinated. A new study in the journal Heart suggests another reason to make sure you have been. Flu vaccination may help prevent heart attacks.

In a study of more than 550 patients, half were hospitalized with a heart attack.

The other half – the control group -- were outpatients, but not for heart attack.
