2011 Student Freedom Riders

2011 Student Freedom Riders

Forty students are embarking on a journey of a lifetime. From May 6-May 16, they are retracing the route the Freedom Riders took in 1961.

Their rides kick off a series of events in conjunction with many of the original Freedom Riders who will meet them at 50th anniversary events. It coincides the premiere of the American Experience documentary Freedom Riders which airs on GPB May 16 at 9 p.m.
