Kurt Vonnegut once called The Statler Brothers "America's poets." These four guys from Virginia drew on their gospel roots to create a signature blend of country music. The group was both popular and prolific, producing 32 albums that sold over 100 million copies. On October 26, 2002, the Statler Brothers - composed of Harold and Don Reid, Phil Balsley and Jimmy Fortune - took the stage for the last time at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virgina. The house was packed, enthusiastic and adoring. The Statler Brothers Farewell Concert documents the event and celebrates one of the most popular, durable and unconventional acts in the history of country music.
