The Sherlock Holmes series adapts for television thirteen of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's short stories about the world's most well-known (albeit fictional) detective. The series vividly brings to life the adventures of Detective Holmes and recreates the illustrations that accompanied the story's original publication in "Strand" magazine in the late 19th century. The series is followed by two sequels ("Return" and "Casebook") as well as several TV movie adaptations.
