GPB is excited to present the BBC broadcast of the Royal Wedding on April 29, 2011 and again on April 30, 2011! Coverage begins 3 hours ahead of the wedding service. During this early period, watch the excitement and anticipation build up around Central London as well as other key locations such as St. Andrews and Kate's home village of Bucklebury. Huw Edwards and other BBC correspondents will be stationed around Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and The Mall. They will watch all the preparations as they unfold, report on all the movements, and speak to members of the crowd who have traveled from all over to witness this little piece of history. The BBC will also interview Royal historians and correspondents, fashion experts, and guests of the wedding service.
The ceremonies will begin as the members of the Royal Family and the bride make their way to the Abbey. The BBC will announce the arrivals of all of the key guests and will provide full coverage of the wedding service. Following the service, witness the full procession back to Buckingham Palace and the historic balcony appearance by William and Kate with the Royal Family.
Georgia Public Broadcasting will begin live transmission of the BBC broadcast at 3:00am on Friday, April 29th. It will also rebroadcast the program on Friday, April 29th at 7:00pm, and again on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00pm.
