GPB presents an exclusive special profiling new Atlanta Falcons football team owner and Home Depot co-founder Arthur Blank.
In early February, the Home Depot co-founder – who helped build the idea of a home improvement warehouse into the second largest retail chain in the country – spent more than $550 million to buy the Atlanta Falcons football team. In addition to his new role as owner of the Falcons, Blank is becoming the embodiment of a new generation of philanthropists, and he is rapidly making his mark on his acquired hometown of Atlanta.
"My whole life I've always wanted to be in the middle of things. I've always wanted to make a difference," Blank says. "what is it that I can do today that will make a difference in the lives of the community that's been great to me?"
In Profile: Arthur Blank GPB's Richard Warner talks with Blank about his upcoming plans for the Atlanta Falcons, a major gift to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and how he hopes to make a difference in the lives of young people through philanthropic gifts.
