Host Scott Slade interviews Dr. Roger Tutterow of Mercer University, who served on the Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians and Senator Steve Thompson, who is a member of the newly created Joint Revenue Committee. We’ll discuss the Special Council’s tax recommendations and the Joint Revenue Committee’s task of reviewing and deciding on those recommendations. In our Roundtable segment, Slade is joined by Tom Crawford of the Georgia Report, Walter Jones of Morris News Service, Shannon McCaffrey of the Associated Press and Sandra Parrish of WSB Radio. The panel will look at specific parts of the tax recommendations, such as the grocery tax and taxes on services, and weigh in on the effects of the tax recommendations on middle and low-income families.
