CARROLLTON – STATE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPSDue to last week’s State Cheerleading Championship Special, we delay our exclusive highlights of the 2008 GHSA Boys and Girls State Cross Country Championships, by one week, with the event originally taking place on November 8th. BUFORDThe football program at Buford High is no doubt one of the best in the state. During the past 8-years, the Wolves have won 125 games, 8 Region Titles and 4 State Championships. STONE MOUNTAINFor the past two seasons, seniors Robert Nelson/LB. and Milton Meeks/LB have been the leading tacklers for the Pirates at Stone Mountain High. We recognize Nelson and Meeks as this week’s “Cream of the Crop” recognizing two of Georgia’s senior football standouts. NORCROSSThe Lady Wolves of Wesleyan School are the reigning Class AA Basketball Champs. With reclassification placing the school in Class A means Coach Jan Azar and her team, led by super senior Anne Marie Armstrong, will be challenged by a new group of schools. MILLEDGEVILLEGeorgia Military College senior Haley DeLoach has been a competitive cheerleader for the Lady Bulldogs her entire high school career. DeLoach maintains a 4.0 GPA ranking her #1 in her graduating Class. We recognize Haley DeLoach as this week’s “Academic Athlete of the Week.” “FOOTBALL FRIDAYS IN GEORGIA" – Sequoyah at MaristGPB’s new high school football website will stream “LIVE” Friday night’s Round 2 Playoff Game between Sequoyah High and The Marist School.
