By committing to study and play football at Troy State University, Bremen High senior Jay Stansberry became the first Blue Devils player since 1979 to receive a major college scholarship. Jay Stansberry is this week’s “Cream of the Crop” feature recognizing one of Georgia’s senior football standouts.

We will have highlights from Saturday’s first Georgia High School Water Polo Association State Water Polo Championshp with St. Pius X defeating Wesleyan for the 3rd Place trophy and Collins Hill High edging Wheeler High for the 1st Place hardware.

MCDONOUGH

The Lady Chargers of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy are on the verge of winning 30 or more games for the third straight season. Led by senior Hope Rush/P, a future Yellow Jacket, ELCA is also looking to 3-peat as State Class A Champs.

BUTLER

When it is all said and done, Taylor County High senior Callie Ann Poole will complete her high school career competing all 4-years in softball, basketball and golf. Poole is the Key Club President, maintains a 4.0 GPA and has scored 1450 on the SAT. We recognize Callie Ann Poole as this week’s “Academic Athlete of the Week.”
