With a Top 5 ranking and a 7 & 0 record, the Grayson High Rams are establishing themselves as one of the State’s quality high school football programs and are in perfect position to capture the Region 8-AAAAA title.


ALPHARETTA

Milton High senior running back Toney Williams is approaching 1,500 rushing yards for the season including a 357-yard effort earlier this year. Williams plans on attending the University of Tennessee next fall and is this week’s “Cream of the Crop” feature recognizing one of Georgia’s senior football standouts.


HOSCHTON

The softball program at Mill Creek High has won 3 consecutive region titles, won 31 games in each of the past 2 seasons while placing third 2 straight years in Class AAAAA. With 8 seniors hitting the cover off the ball in ’08, this could be the year the Lady Hawks go all the way.


ATLANTA

Winning is a tradition for the boys cross-country program at the Westminster School. After winning 10-straight state titles, the Wildcats finished 2nd in 2006 and returned to the top again in 2007. Currently ranked as one of the top boys programs in any classification, the Wildcats are prepared to run for the gold again in 2008.


EATONTON

Seniors Lexi Jones and Will Dabbs are two of Putnam County High’s smartest student athletes. Jones, the captain on her basketball team, sports a 3.66 GPA while Dabbs, a starter on the football and basketball team, as well as the Vice-President of the senior class, carries a 3.67 GPA. We recognize Lexi Jones and Will Dabbs as this week’s “Academic Athletes of the Week.”
