Since 1984, Georgia Public Broadcasting's listener-supported, 16-station public radio network has been Georgia's source for great music and National Public Radio (NPR) news.
Presently we are offering 2 compensated RADIO internships for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in music, broadcast, media, journalism or communications and/or a background in broadcast production preferred. The News Reporting and Production internship focuses on news reporting and gathering for GPB’s daily statewide newscasts and feature production and production assistant duties for Georgia Gazette, GPB’s weekly news magazine; The Music Production internship focuses on the preparation of classical music programming for the GPB network.
Responsibilities include: --News Reporting & Production: gather sound in the field (press conferences, etc.) for use in newscasts and Georgia Gazette; log and edit tapes, write news copy, cover local events, and perform various production duties for each week’s program; develop and execute ideas for feature stories. --Music Production: log tapes of music performances; edit interviews; research and write scripts; catalog incoming CDs for the GPB Music Library; produce web components for GPB music programming (playlists, program descriptions, etc.)
Students will be required to work approximately 20 hours per week. No previous work experience required. Internship may be eligible for Class Credit or Student Evaluation if coordinated with your college or university.
