State Jobless Rate Falls To Single Digits
For the first time in nearly 2 years, Georgia’s unemployment rate has fallen below double-digits. The 9.9 percent mark for April is down one-tenth of a point from the 10 percent in March.

Longterm Unemployment Benefits Extended
State lawmakers at the 11th hour agreed to a small change to state unemployment law. It will allow 22,000 Georgians to receive an additional 20 weeks of unemployment benefits.
