    A top Georgia lawmaker says he has an idea for how the state can get more water for its needs. House Speaker David Ralston is proposing a trade with Tennessee. In his idea, Ralston says Tennessee would get better connections to Georgia’s transportation links. In return, Georgia would get access to water from the Tennessee River.

    Georgia pecan farmers are planting thousands of new trees. It’s all to keep up with a growing demand for their product more than 7,000 miles away in China and they’re not stopping there. Farmer Trent Mason stands in the middle of his 2,000 acre pecan orchard in Fort Valley. On one side are 20-year old trees covered in tiny nuts and on the other 300 acres of saplings, planted in January.

    Georgia exports rose to an all-time high of $28 billion last year. The US Census recently released information about the value of the nation's international trade. The numbers show Georgia's top exports are wood pulp, poultry, kaolin and carpet. Top destinations are Brazil, Mexico and China.

    The Atlanta Braves have made a trade to bolster its offense. The team has acquired power-hitting and All-Star second baseman Dan Uggla from the Florida Marlins. In return, the Braves give up All-Star utility player Omar Infante, and young pitcher Mike Dunn.
