Residents of the coastal Georgia city where a baby was fatally shot two weeks ago say they want more officers in their neighborhoods and more done to get guns off the streets. More than 150 citizens attended a town hall meeting Thursday in Brunswick.

Brunswick city officials are planning a town hall meeting to hear concerns from residents after the killing of a toddler, who was gunned down as his mother walked him down a city sidewalk. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Georgia's U.S. senators were split on the debt ceiling vote, but they've spent most of this month showing a united front in a series of town halls they held across the state. Sen. Johnny Isakson and Sen. Saxby Chambliss stopped at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton on Monday and spoke to a crowd of at least 100 people about jobs and the economy.
