Tennessee lawmakers gave rousing applause to welcome a Georgia senator who opposed a resolution calling for redrawing the border between the two states. Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris of Collierville introduced Republican Sen. Jeff Mullis of Chickamauga, Ga., during a floor session in the Tennessee Capitol on Wednesday.
A state Senate panel Wednesday approved a plan to resolve a 195-year border dispute with Tennessee. Under the plan, Georgia would cede most of the disputed land, but would gain access to the Tennessee River.
