Sheriff's officials in eastern Georgia say they're working to create a gang suppression task force to address youth violence. Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree said authorities know youth violence is a major problem in the Augusta area and officials are trying to break the cycle.
Georgia’s new Alzheimer’s task force meets for the first time Thursday to begin developing a plan so the state can adequately serve a growing number of residents and caregivers dealing with the disease. State lawmakers created the Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias Task Force earlier this year.
