Prosecutors are asking a judge to impose a gag order in the case of a Brunswick teenager charged with fatally shooting a baby in the face. District Attorney Jackie Johnson filed the request Wednesday saying it’s necessary to ensure a fair trial for the 17-year-old suspect.

The defense attorney for a 15-year-old charged with felony murder in a baby's slaying in Georgia says he should be tried separately from an older teen accused of shooting the toddler in the face. Attorney Kimberly L. Copeland said Tuesday she believes her client, Dominique Lang, is "more of a witness than a defendant."

Residents of the coastal Georgia city where a baby was fatally shot two weeks ago say they want more officers in their neighborhoods and more done to get guns off the streets. More than 150 citizens attended a town hall meeting Thursday in Brunswick.

Brunswick city officials are planning a town hall meeting to hear concerns from residents after the killing of a toddler, who was gunned down as his mother walked him down a city sidewalk. The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

A city official in Georgia has been arrested on charges of willfully obstructing law enforcement and influencing a witness in the case involving a 13-month-old boy who was fatally shot last week.

The grandmother of a 15-year-old charged with murder in a baby's shooting death says her grandson would never get involved in such a crime. Dominique Lang and 17-year-old De'Marquise Elkins are charged with killing 13-month-old Antonio Santiago in Brunswick, Ga., on Thursday while the baby was in a stroller as he and his mother were taking a walk.

Police say a girl who accidentally shot herself in the leg at a midtown Atlanta high school has been taken to the Fulton County Jail. Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos says the 17-year-old Grady High School student is charged with reckless conduct, possession of a pistol by a minor, disruption of a public school and carrying weapons within a school safety zone.

Gilmer County authorities are searching for a man for questioning in a Sunday shooting outside the north Georgia city of Ellijay that left two men and a woman injured. Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson said the incident occurred at a residence after an argument started between acquaintances.

A reserve soldier was shot dead by another reservist at Fort Gillem Georgia just before 5 pm on Thursday. The victim, whose name has not been released, died of multiple gun shot wounds.
