U.S. Army officials say three soldiers from the Marksmanship Unit have been named to the USA Shooting Paralympic National and Development teams. The three participate in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's wounded warrior program.
A Georgia-based Army soldier who lost a leg while fighting in Iraq is getting ready to compete at the Paralympics in London. Sgt. 1st Class Josh Olson, an Army marksman stationed at Fort Benning, will compete in two rifle events.
There are still seven spots open on the U.S. Olympic shooting team, and trials at Fort Benning could determine who fills them. The shooting team trials are to begin Friday and run through June 12 at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.
