Democratic U.S. Rep. John Barrow is planning to announce legislation he's introduced to help bolster school security. Barrow is scheduled to speak alongside Executive Director of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, J. Terry Norris, Superintendent of the Richmond County Board of Education, Frank Roberson, and others during a press conference Monday morning at the Richmond County Board of Education in Augusta.
A conference on school safety is set this week at the University of Georgia's Tifton Campus. U.S. Attorney Michael J. Moore is teaming up with Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Georgia Department of Education officials to present the third annual Safety in Our Schools conference.
