The Savannah Film Office said Thursday it worked with a record number of film projects in 2012 that brought more than $12 million in direct spending to the city. The projects ranged from TV ads to feature films.
Savannah economic development officials are considering a public-private partnership to build a new film studio. The soundstage would compliment existing studios and be large enough to attract the type of digitial media projects that often bypass Savannah. City officials say, the film, TV digital media industry last year had a nearly $10 million economic impact in Savannah.
