The federal government has sent a letter to Georgia officials saying the state's schedule for runoff elections violates federal law on overseas absentee ballots. The U.S. Department of Justice sent the letter on June 15 to Georgia's attorney general and secretary of state.
The race for State Supreme Court, among other local and regional races, will be decided in a runoff election on November 30th. Lawrenceville attorney Tammy Adkins will challenge incumbent Justice David Nahmias in the runoff.
