Home sweet home! On a beautiful afternoon Saturday at Roswell High School, the Roswell girls and boys track teams ran away with big wins at the prestigious Roswell Relays. The girls took first place with 97 points, followed by Hillgrove (67.5), Chamblee (51), Woodstock (41) and Tucker (36.5).
In a night filled with exciting games, perhaps the most interesting ones were routs. Miller Grove dominated previously unbeaten Sequoyah, while Milton wiped out No. 2 Peachtree Ridge. See below for recaps of 18 of tonight’s playoff games.
Tonight in the first round of the state basketball playoffs, Walton, Berkmar and Campbell all went down tonight in boys playoff action. Brookwood's A.J. Sims, Peachtree Ridge's Angelo Watley and Duluth's Xavier Walker enter the 44 in this week's rankings of the state's top seniors. Tyler Hunter of Lowndes fell out of the 44 ue to injury as did Marquis Roberts of McEachern and South Gwinnett's Edward Muldrow. Kell's Brian Randolph and North Gwinnett's CJ Uzomah cemented their status in the 44 with outstanding performances.
United States Representative Tom Price (R-Roswell) is among three lawmakers House investigators have recommended be further investigated to determine whether political contributions were improperly linked to votes on the huge financial overhaul bill.
