The Atlanta Braves lost in hearbreaking fashion Sunday night at Turner Field, putting them in a must-win situation Monday night. The Braves' 3-2 loss to the San Franciso Giants means Atlanta trails the National League Division Series 2 games to 1, in the best-of-5 format.

Swan Song For Bobby Cox

The Atlanta Braves squeaked into the playoffs this year. It's a fitting goodbye for the Braves manager, Bobby Cox, who announced that this is his final season. Cox led the Braves briefly late in the 1970s and returned in 1985.

It was a popular week for byes throughout the state and, consequently, there are not as many changes in the rankings as we have seen in recent weeks. Class A saw no changes at all while Class 4A had just one change and Classes 5A and 2A saw just two new names each.
