The Region 6, Class 4A cross country meet was held Saturday at Marist High School. The top four teams from each division and the top 10 individual runners go on to the state meet, so a huge opportunity was at stake.
Here is this week’s newest edition of the Score 44! This is our list of the top 44 high school seniors in the state. In this week’s 44, we have two changes: Tyler Cierski and Angelo Watley were replaced in the list by AJ Sims of Brookwood and Marcus Caffey of Grady.
Tucker 59, Redan 24: Tucker rushed for 344 yards on 42 carries to crush host Redan. N’Quan Maggett scored four touchdowns on the ground and had a 51-yard reception. Bashr Coles added two rushing touchdowns, while Rondell Simons and Dallas Rivers each had one score.
Cedar Grove can now etch their name as a contender in DeKalb County football after a huge win against previously unbeaten Woodward Academy. The Saints won their fourth straight game Friday and look to be in control of what could have been a lost season.
Cobb County football has now spent more time searching for “the Promised Land” than Moses and his brethren. It took Moses 40 years of wandering through the desert; it has now taken Cobb 43 years to win a second state championship.
