GPB/AJC Top 10 Rankings - Week 7

It was a popular week for byes throughout the state and, consequently, there are not as many changes in the rankings as we have seen in recent weeks. Class A saw no changes at all while Class 4A had just one change and Classes 5A and 2A saw just two new names each.

Braves Back In Postseason

In the final season for manager Bobby Cox, and for the first time since 2005, the Atlanta Braves have returned to the playoffs.

The Atlanta Braves honored the managerial career of Bobby Cox before the team's game Saturday afternoon at Turner Field in Atlanta. Cox is retiring at the end of the Braves' season, which could include the playoffs.

Kell Defeats Yet Another Ranked Foe, Now 6-0

The Kell Longhorns were reclassified to the Class AAAA-level before the start of this season ,and that could be just the edge the Longhorns need to go the furthest the team has ever reached come November and playoff time.
