We’re a third of the way home in the 2010-2011 Regions Directors Cup race. The Georgia Athletics Directors Association has presented the award since 1999-2000 to recognize the very best athletics programs in Georgia.
Redan took over the No. 1 spot in Class 4A after SW DeKalb and Madison County lost games this past week. In Class 5A, Bradwell Institute is now ranked No. 9, while in Class 3A, Sandy Creek and Grovetown debuted.
In this week's Class 5A rankings, Walton and Newton each were ranked for the first time this season. Brunswick made the list in Class 4A while Murray County, LaFayette and Henry County debuted in Class 3A.
Saturday at the Junior Bowl, some very talented young men will go at it on the gridiron to show their stuff against the best in the state of Georgia. Several of those players have been preceded by family members who have made it to the ultimate level of their chosen sport.
The Milton boy's basketball team took on Fla. powerhouse Winter Park at Centennial High School Friday night, in the 3rd Annual Hoops In Overdrive Shoot-Out.
Milton (11-2) beat Winter Park (10-3) 75-60 in a game featuring several of the top players in the country.
After a full day of basketball at Centennial, two teams stood out for their play. And one of them was the host school.
