The GHSA State Basketball Tournament is just around the corner. This year promises more of the usual, as a ton of talent from across the Peach State will do battle for the right to be called "state champions."
February means championship season for winter sports across the state of Georgia, and action is heating up on the mats as the 2011 GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Championships take place at the Arena at Gwinnett this weekend to decide the individual and team championships.
The top boys basketball regular season concluded over the weekend. For top ranked teams in the AJC’s weekly poll, the games were much like a continuation of the pre-game lay-up drills. All of the top three teams in each classification retained their ranking from week six.
Continuing its strong tradition of broadcasting high school sports championship events, Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB Media) will televise the GHSA Traditional Wrestling Championship live from 4 -7 PM on Saturday, February 19 from Gwinnett Center.
