    CDC Probing Rabies Transplant Cases
    The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it's digging deeper into the case of a rabies-infected organ donor. Rabies expert Richard Franka said Wednesday that investigators in Atlanta are trying to understand why three of the four people who got organs from the Florida donor in 2011 didn't develop the deadly disease. A fourth recipient from Maryland died of rabies in February.

    Rabid Cat Attacked People, Dogs
    Authorities say at least 10 people and two dogs have been exposed to rabies after contact with a rabid cat in the Savannah area. Authorities in Chatham County say a rabid cat has bitten or scratched 9 people and two dogs. WTOC-TV Thursday reported the feral cat bit at least one person and scratched others before being reported to animal control on Nov. 28.
