Preliminary results show Mike Dugan leading his opponent in a special Republican primary for a state senate seat in western Georgia. At stake is a state senate seat left vacant by Republican William Hamrick, of Carrollton, who stepped down to become a judge.
Official election results show Republican congressional candidate Lee Anderson has defeated a GOP primary opponent by just 159 votes in their runoff election two weeks ago. State election officials certified the vote count Tuesday for the runoff in east Georgia's 12th Congressional District.
