Gov. Nathan Deal is asking the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to suspend the federal requirement to add ethanol to gasoline, joining livestock and poultry farmers and several other governors who’ve made similar requests because of the price of corn.
President Obama's deputy trade ambassador toured the Savannah port, saying Georgia would benefit from proposed trade deals. Congress has held up the agreements with Panama, Columbia and South Korea over jobs concerns. Some Democrats say, the deals would send more US jobs overseas.
