Authorities have identified an Augusta surgeon as being among five people killed in the crash of a private jet in eastern Georgia. Investigators say the jet aborted its landing and struck a 60-foot utility pole.

Authorities are investigating after a small jet crashed off the end of a runway after landing in eastern Georgia near Augusta, killing five people and injuring two. Thomson-McDuffie County Sheriff Logan Marshall says the jet crashed after 8 p.m. Wednesday.
