The first round of the playoffs tonight centered around upsets involving Gwinnett and Cobb County teams. In one of the biggest upsets in the state tonight, Brookwood went to No. 2 Lassiter and handed the Trojans their first loss of the season in overtime. No. 4 seed Mill Creek traveled to north Fulton and upset Alpharetta with a last-second field goal, while Parkview traveled to east Cobb and beat Walton in overtime.

Lassiter held off Wheeler, Parkview fell to Central Gwinnett, Norcross dominated Peachtree Ridge, Lovejoy destroyed Newton and Lovett edged Wesleyan in Friday night gridiron action.
