Members of Kell High School's robotics team are using a $10,000 grant to build a machine that could aid in the cleanup of oil spills. The group came up with the idea after learning about the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill last year.

Georgia environmental groups are praising a decision by the Obama administration to reverse itself on offshore oil. Back in March, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the administration would open up the East Coast to offshore drilling. Now -- after the Gulf oil spill -- Salazar says, the administration will NOT persue Atlantic oil.

Travel industry experts credit a rebounding economy and the BP oil spill with a prediction for more Georgia travelers Labor Day weekend. AAA says, 921,000 Georgians, or about seven percent more than last year, will take a holiday trip this year. Tybee Island tourism officials say, hotels and home rentals on Tybee Island already have seen the tourism increase.
