An aviation firm in Macon is turning a commercial jet into a movie set, hoping to lure more film and television production to Georgia. They are already getting calls from studios.

Several investors in metro Atlanta have announced plans to build what would be the largest film studio complex in Georgia. The studio is set to open next year with five sound stages on 288 acres in Fayette County, just south of Atlanta.

Police are investigating the theft of $300,000 in wiring from a northwest Atlanta warehouse that's been transformed into a movie set for an upcoming Hollywood film. Police said the thieves stripped the wiring from the building, one of several break-ins in recent weeks in the Defoors Ferry Road area.
