A Denmark-based automotive supplier has announced plans to open a manufacturing plant in south Georgia expected to bring 250 jobs and $15 million to the state. Automotive emissions control and exhaust manufacturer Dinex Group will open its first U.S. plant in Dublin-Laurens County.

Caterpillar could break ground on its new Georgia plant within the next two weeks. Land planner Jon Williams said he submitted plans for the $200 million facility Friday afternoon, just hours after the firm announced they would build it near Athens.

Mitsubishi Power is marking the end of one phase of construction and the beginning of another at its plant near Savannah. Officials with the Japanese heavy equipment maker say, they expect to begin work soon at their electrical turbine manufacturing facility in Pooler. The company will dedicate the plant, expected to employ 200 by the end of next year.

Officials at Mitsubishi Power Systems have approved the third and final phase of a gas turbine manufacturing plant near Savannah. The company's board on Monday announced the last stage of the facility, which should be completed by 2012.

Encore Plastics Corp, a Sandusky, Ohio-based plastics manufacturer, says it will open a plant in Forsyth early in 2011.
