The University of Georgia has revamped its specialty license plate in the hopes of getting even more backers of Bulldog Nation to show their support. The new design features the university's iconic "G'' logo with the words "University of Georgia" in red.

Georgia's new license plates will be available statewide starting Monday. The Georgia Department of Revenue says license plates issued prior to December 1, 2003, will be replaced either when owners renew their vehicle registration or when they register a vehicle for the first time.

Gov. Nathan Deal has signed into law a bill that eliminates the $1 charge for the optional "In God We Trust" decals for car license plates.

A group of Georgia state senators wants your car’s license plate to carry the nation’s motto -- “In God We Trust” -- in place of a county name. The change would reverse a system currently in place where drivers can buy a sticker with the motto on it to use in place of their county’s name.
