    A new system for picking jurors means more Georgians could be called for jury duty – but everyone should be called less often. State officials will electronically merge voter registrations with driver’s license and state ID card data to update the list of eligible jurors every year.

    Bill Broadens Georgia’s Jury Pool
    The pool of prospective jurors in Georgia would grow under a plan to use driver’s license rolls to fill juries. Right now, jurors are selected from county voter registration lists. The measure, sponsored by Brunswick Rep. Alex Atwood, would add anyone with a drivers’ license or state ID card.
