Authorities say hundreds of jobs are being eliminated at Robins Air Force Base in central Georgia as a result of a military reorganization. A total of 600 positions will be eliminated at the base, according to a statement from U.S. Sens. Saxby Chambliss, Johnny Isakson and U.S. Rep. Austin Scott.
New statistics suggest that some states are putting the recession behind them. But Georgia is not yet one of them.The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranked Georgia 50th among the states in most year-over-year job losses.
