A professor at Georgia Tech and Emory University, along with colleagues in California, is developing iPhone technology designed for parents to photograph or video their child's eardrum, and then send images to a physician. It would require a software application and a hardware attachment called Remotoscope.

A bill that would allow students to use smartphones as part of classroom lessons passed the state House Wednesday. The bill would also remove some other school administrative rules. For example, it would allow home-schooled students to deliver paperwork to the state Department of Education, rather than the superintendents of their local school systems.
