Two new refrigerated warehouses are promising to lower shipping costs for Georgia poultry exporters. The Port of Savannah in a few months will welcome two new cold storage facilities locating nearby. The freezers are important for Georgia's $13 billion poultry industry.
President Obama's deputy trade ambassador toured the Savannah port, saying Georgia would benefit from proposed trade deals. Congress has held up the agreements with Panama, Columbia and South Korea over jobs concerns. Some Democrats say, the deals would send more US jobs overseas.
