Authorities say two suspects are in custody in connection with the death of a man whose body was found on the Clarkston campus of Georgia Perimeter College, just east of Atlanta. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrests early Thursday morning.
A former student journalist at Georgia Perimeter College has filed a lawsuit against the university system's Board of Regents for failing to produce documents under the state's open records law. David Schick, past editor of the student newspaper, had been seeking records related to the college's budget shortfall and layoffs. The lawsuit was filed Monday in Fulton County.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has given Georgia Perimeter College, a two year institution in Dunwoody, a 12 month warning to fix problems or lose accreditation. The board has reaffirmed Shorter University’s accreditation for another ten years.

The interim leader of Georgia Perimeter College has told employees that 282 workers will be laid off. A campus-wide email sent by Interim President Rob Watts says the cuts affect 215 full-time employees and 67 part-time workers. The college employs about 3,110 people.
