A federal class action suit is pending against the heirs of three Southeast Georgia gas stations on Interstate 95 near the Florida border. The suit alleges the late convenience store owner rigged the pumps and defrauded customers of millions of dollars in gas over a two year period. Tens of thousands of motorists could have been affected.
As gas prices continue rising, some Savannah drivers are enjoying ever-lower prices because of a price war among local gas stations. Three area gas station chains are discounting gas by as much as 15 cents a gallon for customers using special store-sponsored debit cards. The competition is intense by national standards.
