The British film studio home to the James Bond franchise and other major movie productions is announcing plans for its first U.S. movie production facility. Ivan Dunleavy is the CEO of Pinewood Shepperton PLC. He made the announcement Monday, saying the "agreement is another step forward for the Pinewood brand internationally."
A film company is planning to build a sprawling studio complex in Newton County, southeast of Atlanta. Executives with Georgia-based Triple Horse say the company will build five new filming stages in Covington.
Effingham County near Savannah could be getting a new film studio. Medient Studios has received approval from local officials to begin building a new $90 million movie production facility next to I-16. Film and Television professor Michael Chaney of the Savannah College of Art and Design says the area already has many ties with the film industry.
