If you missed the deadline, the extended deadline and even the grace period to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act, you may be surprised to learn that you still have time to enroll in coverage. The federal government extended the original enrollment deadline from Dec. 15 to Dec. 23 and then even added an extra 24 hour window for consumers to sign up on Dec. 24.
Shorter University’s enrollment has declined by 7 percent from last year. An expert on religion and higher education says universities which require faculty to sign a lifestyle statement are putting their bottom line at risk.
Summer enrollment is down at the University of Georgia. UGA enrolled 13,854 students this summer, a decrease of 958 students. Registrar Jan Hathcote says the economy may have played a role in the decline. Enrollment was also down last year. The school is examining data as it becomes available to determine the reasons.
