Bibb County school system officials said the cuts won't automatically mean the employees will be laid off. The jobs account for about $4.23 million in annual salary and benefit costs. They are funded with grant money that won't be available in the 2013-14 school year.

Officials at Fort Valley State University say the school's efforts to cut costs will result in about 100 employees losing their jobs. The employees are mostly temporary and part-time workers.
