Georgia license plates soon may all read "In God We Trust" and parents who apply for federal financial assistance might have to take drug tests under proposed legislation filed by state lawmakers.

Two Georgia lawmakers are planning to introduce legislation that would require people to pass a drug test to receive welfare. State Rep. Jason Spencer, R-Woodbine, and state Sen. John Albers, R-Roswell, said they hope lawmakers consider the plan next year.

The tests were administered on Wednesday night and the results were confirmed on Tuesday.
