Georgia has begun redeveloping historic buildings with vigor. Macon is leading the way in that effort. But preservationists still have a way to go on selling history as a means to revive its urban core.
A new method of street parking is in place on a downtown block of Third Street, in Macon. It's called reverse parking. Drivers must back into a space at a 60-degree angle to the roadway. The idea is to give drivers better visibility when pulling into the street.
