The Georgia Department of Labor is teaming up with business and community leaders in two northwest Georgia counties to try to help job seekers get matched up with employers looking to fill vacant positions.
The Dalton area had the highest unemployment rate among Georgia's metro areas last month at 12.1 percent. The Athens and Warner Robins areas had the lowest rates at 7.3 percent. In metro Atlanta, the rate increased to 9.4 percent.
More detailed unemployment data from the state labor department shows the Dalton area has the highest jobless rate at 11.8 percent. Metro Athens posted the lowest unemployment rate in November at 6.9 percent.
