Country music legend Garth Brooks returns to Atlanta after a long hiatus.
His performance Friday with wife, Georgia native Trisha Yearwood, is the first of seven upcoming shows in Atlanta —– the first in Atlanta in nearly 20 years.

Singer-songwriter Amy Ray’s voice is perhaps best known as half of the folk-rock duo Indigo Girls. Over the years, the Georgia resident also has released a few other albums—mostly punk—when she was not touring with her Indigo Girls partner, Emily Saliers. But her newest solo effort is a country record, her first foray into music she said is a little intimidating.
The country music trio Lady Antebellum is featured on the cover of the new 2012 Georgia Travel Guide, which has an interview with the group's members discussing their favorite spots to visit in the state. Featuring the Grammy-winning band in the color, magazine-sized travel guide is one piece of the Georgia Department of Economic Development's strategy for boosting travel to the state.
