Seven community health care centers in Georgia are splitting a total of $4.2 million in federal grant money. That will allow them to serve 40,000 additional patients. The centers serve uninsured and underinsured people across the state.
Health officials say Georgia's community health centers received $37 million from a federal funding boost. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin on Monday detailed the funding from last year's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
